We recommend parking your car at the Santuario della Castagna (Chestnut Sanctuary) parking lot, a beloved religious site among the people of Bergamo, nestled in the Parco dei Colli and dating back to 1310.
o reach the Sanctuary, you can take the Villa D’Almè-Dalmine road and, when you reach Pasticceria Bonati in Paladina, turn into via Bolis. From there, follow the road (which passes in front of the Sombreno church), and on via Bergamo, turn left into via Madonna della Castagna.
Facing away from the Sanctuary, turning left (following the blue line) leads you onto a paved road; after about 300 meters, on the right, you will find the entrance to the new cycle path called “la via dei Monasteri” (the Monasteries’ Road). If you continue straight, you will reach via Fontana.
